Day 4 - Seven Mile Beach and then some

Everyone slept in a bit today until about 8am. The kids stayed a sleep a little bit longer while Anna and I had a cup of coffee. Winds were blowing a bit stronger than usual this morning, so we opted to make a day at Seven Mile Beach today. LT got up around 8:30 and went snorkeling right away. Olivia slept in until 9:30am. We figured if she wasn’t up by then, we would have to wake her. I wanted to get on the road no later than 10am, as it would take about 30-45 minutes to get to Seven Mile Beach.

The troops were all hungry so when we got to Seven Mile we ended up going to the Marriott resort. The Vista Beach Bar was the place we attacked with a vengeance. We sat on the patio, which was a great place to see all the watersports and just a great people watching spot. While Olivia, Anna and I ate, LT ended up going out on a jet ski for 30 minutes. We watched him zip back and forth along the coast line, disappearing every now and then, only to return in sight several minutes later. After jet skiing, LT went out and played in the water a bit.

Next stop was a boat wreck behind the Captian’s Gallery Backery. It had a sunken ship just about 25 yards from the beach. LT and I went out and snorkeled the site, while Anna and Olivia combed the beach areas. We didn’t hang out there too long. It wasn’t the traditional beach. The strand was made up of lava rocks and there was quite a bit of concrete structure, left over from many years in the past.

We headed back up Seven Mile Beach only to make our stop at Yoshi Sushi. Olivia was starving and let’s just say we put a major hurtin’ on the sushi bar. We got all kinds of rolls and several appetizers. LT also had his first Saki drink. Seeing that 18 is the legal drinking age here, LT is passing for being of age with the help of the age confirmation by his parents. Plus, we haven’t seen anyone ask the kids for an ID.

Full and ready to blow, we walked across the street to the Westin Resort to check out the snorkel area. We walked around a bit, but we all decided to simply head back to our place. Upon our return, LT and I just did a little bit of fishing, snorkeling and general fiddle fartin’. At 8:30pm, we ordered in some dinner from the Italian Kitchen. Pretty good food!
