After we left Marposario, we walked a little further up the hill to Anamaya, a yoga and spa retreat. Nice digs. Very nice digs. I had called earlier in the morning and made reservations for dinner. Anamaya is located at the very top of the hill overlooking Montezuma with a view that is spectacular. It’s a whole new way at looking at the landscape. Even though it sits above the town, the nice thing is you can’t see any of the town’s buildings due to the foliage. From up a top, you can view the Isla de Tortuga and Cemetery Island as well as several very nice compounds. Apparently right below Anamaya, Disney has a property (compound) that look massive. It encompasses a whole ridge and the only way to get there is on their private suspended bridge. I figured the bridge has to be at least 200’ long.
Olivia taking in a bit of view in the Infinity pool. She was having a ball even though it was drizzling. |
Overlooking the Costa Rican coast you can enjoy a view while you relax in their infinity pool. I did just that along with Thomas. A little earlier we had been sitting out on the covered landing they had next to their reception area. A gentleman came by and introduced himself as Nathan and inquired where we were from. It happened to be one of the resident massage therapists. I asked if he had any openings this afternoon to do a 30 minute massage for our stressed out Squirrel Whisperer. Of course he did. It’s low season. Anna, being the lucky one she is, got a massage while the kids and I hung out and took in the view.
A shot of the foliage out Anamaya back door.Simply look how thick and lush the greenery is. |
When Anna got back from the massage, Thomas and I walked down to the waterfall. It was still raining slightly and we guessed we would not be able to go on the rope swing, but we had nothing better to do. We were right. The water was rushing extremely fast. It was spilling over sections of the falls and river that were visible the other day. No way were we even going to test the waters. We marched back up the mountain to the resort and got in the infinity pool.
A picture of Disney's compound above Montezuma. Would like to see the inside of that place! |
Before long it was dinner time and we had a wonderful meal. It consisted of a broccoli and cauliflower soup, chicken and stuff red pepper meal and a banana bread desert. The kids didn’t like the banana bread too much, so I helped them eat it. I didn’t want to see it go to waste. You know how I am about cleaning desert plates. After the meal we had Marco pick us back up and take back to our casa. What a heck of a day!!
