Day 7 – Chow Time after Cabo Blanco

This is becoming a daily ritual. We love eating. It seems there are simply not enough meals in a day. We stopped at a soda about a 1km from the house right next to Super David. Apparently, David must be the owner of this supermarket. Just guessing...

The soda had all of four tables. We ran into the four people we ran into at the park. A father and son from Massachusetts and a younger couple out from Colorado. The four we waiting on a taxi to take them back to Montezuma. We chatted a bit and finally placed an order with Jean-Carlos, the son of the soda’s owner. Just guessing here as well. Most of all these places are family run restaurants or shops.

A boy rode up on his ride while we were at the soda. He went to go pickup something from the grocery store next door. I took a picture of it parked next to the electric pole. The kids wished they could have taken it for a ride.

The meal was amazing. Anna had ordered an Arroz with Seafood. Basically a dish made up of salsa, rice, and a seafood medoly of shrimp, squid, octopus, and grouper. It was in our opinion the best of all the dishes we ordered. Thomas ordered a taco, but somehow he managed to get Anna’s dinner instead. A costa rican taco is a bit different than what we know to be a taco. It is a tubular deep fried taco shell packed with chicken, shrimp or beef and then topped with lettuce, salsa, etc. We were all under the impression it would be a soft shell taco. Olivia went with what she knew…One big fat cheeseburger. She enjoyed ever last bite. She especially loved the fries. The papas (potatoes) have a bit of a little different taste here. I think they are more flavorful.

We finished the meal and piled into the car. When I parked the car earlier in front of the small Super, there was a large boulder in front on the right side. I couldn’t see the boulder as I got in the car and honestly don’t remember it being there when I parked. I came to find out the new plastics Toyota is using these days don't fair well to the costa rican boulders. I ended up putting in a dent in the front right bumper. What a bonehead move!! We’ll have to wait and see what the car rental place thinks when we return the car tomorrow.

Ended up heading back to the casa and took it easy for the rest of the evening.
