Day 9 - Almost Done with the Certification

The day started again with us dropping off the kids at the Lions Dive Resort for the PADI class. They start their class at 8:30am. Today we got there right on time with 5 minutes to spare. Ernst, the instructor, is a joker and has taken to Thomas. They both giggle and fool around. Ernst just happens to be a whole lot bigger. He has been great with the kids and helped them along tremendously in the PADI class.

After we dropped the kids off, we drove to Punda, the heart of the city. Basically the right side. When you look at Willemstad and see the channel you will always notice two names. Punda (the original city)on the right and Ostroband (means the Other side) on the left. As Punda got too big, they expanded the city on - "the other side" - now Ostroband. They now have a pedestrian water swing bridge that connects the two sides together.

We ended up parking the car and went to Rif Fort, where we had been at on the second day. It was a great little cafe in the middle of the old Fort and the food was quite good. Coffee and beer wasn't too shabby either. I swear, I feel like I've eating about every three hours here. Anna says I'm a growing boy. Thomas just says I'm growing out.

After a little nutrition, we walked the shops and grabbed a couple of things for the kids. We headed back to the resort to have lunch with the kids at 11:30am (again eating). We got there right as they were being let out of the class. Perfect timing. We all had lunch together and then shoved them back to Ernst.

Anna and I went snorkeling for about 1.5 hours after lunch and had an amazing time. It truly is mind boggling to grasp all that nature has to offer. The sheer madness to the difference in nature is just astounding. Fish and coral of every kind, size, color and shape.

The pictures we took simply don't do justice. I can't wait to go scuba diving with the kids on Friday.

Kids finishing their first dive of the day!

I think she's happy. Right after her dive!!! Yeah, she's happy!!!
