Day 13 - Gone Fishing!

Olivia didn't feel well this morning and basically wanted to lounge around. Her belly was bothering and did not want to venture out any distance .We have been running hard for almost two weeks now with something going on daily, so today was a perfect day to do nothing. Since the ladies (damas) – Thomas laughs at this word – damas – sounds like dumbass. Anyway, since the ladies were staying home, Thomas and I decided to go fishing. When we were in Montezuma yesterday, I stopped in the local store and purchased some fishing line and hooks.
Thomas and I headed out the door and made our way to the river. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get to the river from our house. With me stopping and taking pictures every now and then, you can up that time to about 40 minutes. We went to the mouth of the river and positioned ourselves for either a great catch or a wonderful time. Thirty minutes after fishing all we had caught was a good breeze. We were about to head up the river when Eric and Jenny starting marching our way. They just had stopped over at the house to drop of some tuna they caught the day prior, before heading out to Mal Pais. They stopped to say goodbye and wish us well for the remainder of our stay. They were a great couple.

Thomas and I trudged through the currents and made are way up river. We walked up the river ½ to ¾ mile and played in the currents for about an hour. Eventually we ran across a road that crossed the river. We exited the river on to one of the roads and figured it would lead somewhere. The road led to a farmer’s house and then continued onward. It followed the river until we hit a big gate, the farmer’s gate. Once through gate, we were back on the main road. We proceeded to head back home and have lunch with the damas (ladies).
