Day 21 - The Discovery of our Arachnid

We have been trying to figure out what the spider was that we captured in the house the other day. After some research and picture comparison, we have determined it is a Brazil Wandering Spider. Thank goodness we caught this guy and got rid of it. Its twice as venomous as the Black Widow.

Below is a short description I found on Environmental Graffiti, written by Tony Leather.

The Brazilian Wandering Spider is nowhere near the biggest spider in the world. In fact, at only five inches across, it is pretty small, but do not be fooled by this. According to some researchers, this is the deadliest arachnid on the planet, and it is both highly aggressive and territorial. Sometimes called the Banana spider because many are found in bunches of the fruit, this beast is definitely one to avoid.
